Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Aparagon, Inc. (“Aparagon” or “we” or “us”) handles personal and non-personal data collected on www.aparagon.com, including the types of personal data we collect about you, how your personal data may be used and when it may be disclosed, how we protect your personal data, and the rights you have in relation to the protection of your personal data.

  1. Control of personal data.

Aparagon, Inc. (“Aparagon”) is the owner of the website, www.aparagon.com (“Website”). Any personal data collected on the Website is maintained and controlled by Aparagon and any of its authorized affiliates or contractors, each of which is required to maintain the privacy of any personal data received by Aparagon with the same level of control and security as Aparagon maintains it.

  1. How Aparagon obtains and collects personal data.

In general, you can visit the Website without disclosing or revealing any personal identifying information. In addition, Aparagon does not conduct any transactions on or via its Website. Aparagon does, however, collect some data on or by its Website, described as follows:

Directly from you. Most of the personal data that Aparagon obtains and maintains about you comes directly from you because you have completed and submitted a “Book Demo” form on the Website that requests your first and last name, email address, phone number, and provides (or may provide) for an open form box for you to submit additional comments or information.

Automatically. Aparagon also automatically collects technical information when you use the Website, such as IP address, log-in data, browser type, time one setting and location, and plug-in types when you interact with our websites.  We also collect data through “cookies.”  A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that the Website can transfer to a user’s hard drive through the user’s browser. The cookie is then stored on the user’s computer as an anonymous tag that identifies the user’s computer, but not the User.  Please see the section below regarding cookies to learn how to opt out of their collection.  In addition, Aparagon’s electronic direct marketing, if and when it is deployed, may include web beacons, cookies, and similar technologies that allow us to know whether you open, read, or delete the message, and links you may click. When you click a link in an electronic direct marketing message, we will also use a cookie to log what pages you view and what content you download from our websites, even if you are not registered at or signed into our site. From public sources. We may collect information about you from third parties and public sources (such as public databases and social media websites). This is to ensure we have accurate, up to date or necessary information for us to communicate with you or to provide the best possible service. The types of information we may collect includes personal details (including name, age, gender and other demographic data) and contact information (including postal address and telephone numbers).

Not from minors. Aparagon does not intend for any minors under the age of 18 to submit any personal information via its website, and it will not knowingly seek or obtain any personal information from any minor under the age of 18.

Not sensitive data. Aparagon does not request, nor does it want to receive, any sensitive personal data, which is data such as social security numbers and, unless in the case of a direct user relationship, financial or bank account data. Please do not provide any of this sensitive personal data to Aparagon unless requested in the context of a direct user relationship.

  1. How Aparagon uses the information it collects.

Unless you provide consent, Aparagon will not use your personal identifiable information for any purpose other than as described herein. Aparagon uses personal identifiable information to reply to inquiries, handle complaints, provide operational notices, and in recordkeeping. Aparagon reserves the right to provide you with information about the Website, Aparagon’s services, and related information in which you have indicated an interest, unless you notify Aparagon by emailing privacy@aparagon.com of your intent to be excluded.

Aparagon may use personal identifying and non-personal identifying information to enable it to recommend products, services, or special offers that would be of interest to you, and/or to contact you again about other Aparagon services and products. Aparagon may, from time to time, use your information to send you marketing or informational emails, text messages, or other communications.

From time to time, Aparagon may use other companies to deliver interactive online advertising, such as banner ads, may collect and use information to help Aparagon better understand the types of advertising or promotions that are most appealing to Aparagon’s users. After it is collected the information is aggregated so it is not identifiable to a specific individual. If, however, you would prefer that these companies not collect such information about you, please contact Aparagon by email at privacy@aparagon.com.

  1. Disclosure of the Information.

Internally. Aparagon may share your personal information within the Aparagon corporate organization, with those employees and executives whose roles may require them to review such information.

Merger or Acquisition. Circumstances may arise where for business reasons, Aparagon decides to sell, buy, merge, or otherwise reorganize its businesses in the United States or some other country. Such a transaction may involve the disclosure of personal identifying information to prospective or actual purchasers, and/or receiving such information from sellers. It is Aparagon’s practice to seek appropriate protection for information in these types of transactions.

To authorized affiliates or agents. Aparagon employs or engages other companies and individuals to perform business functions on behalf of Aparagon. These persons are provided with personal identifying information required to perform their functions, but are prohibited by contract from using the information for other purposes providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing user services.

To third-party marketing analysis consultants. Aparagon reserves the right to disclose to third parties personal information about you for marketing analysis; however, any information disclosed will be in the form of aggregate data that does not describe or identify an individual you.

To government authorities. Under certain circumstances, personal information may be subject to disclosure under a judicial or other government subpoenas, warrants or orders.

  1. Information Security.

Commitment to online security. Aparagon employs physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. Billing and payment data is encrypted whenever transmitted or received online. Personal information is accessible only by staff designated to handle online requests or complaints. All Aparagon agents and contractors with access to personal information on the Website are also bound to adhere to Aparagon’s security standards.

Acts by third-parties. Aparagon will exercise all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information. However, transmissions protected by industry standard security technology and implemented by human beings cannot be made absolutely secure. Consequently, Aparagon shall not be liable for unauthorized disclosure of personal information due to no fault of Aparagon, including, but not limited to, errors in transmission and unauthorized acts of Aparagon staff and/or third parties.

  1. Changes to this Privacy Policy and Opting Out.

Changes. This privacy notice was last updated on the date set forth above. Aparagon reserves the right to update and amend its privacy policy statement at any time. A notice of any material update or amendment will be posted on the Website home page for thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of such change.

Opting out. You have the right at any time to cease permitting personal information to be collected, used, or disclosed by Aparagon and/or by any third parties with whom Aparagon has shared and/or transferred such personal information. Right of cancellation may be exercised by contacting Aparagon by mail at 10480 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 910, Columbia, Maryland 21044, by phone at 410-615-6811, or by email sent to privacy@aparagon.com. After processing the cancellation, Aparagon will delete your personal information from its database.

  1. Access Rights to Data; Changes to Personal Information.

Information maintained by Aparagon. If you request it, Aparagon will provide a reasonable description of your personally identifiable information that Aparagon maintains. Corrections and changes to personal information. If your personal information changes, or you note an error upon review of your information that Aparagon has on file, please promptly email Aparagon at privacy@aparagon.com and provide the new or correct information.

  1. California Privacy Rights.

Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of the Website who are California residents to request certain information regarding Aparagon’s disclosure of personal information for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email to Aparagon at privacy@aparagon.com. Within thirty (30) days of receiving such a request, Aparagon will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for third-party direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of these third parties. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. Aparagon reserves its right not to respond to requests submitted other than to the address specified in this paragraph.

California’s privacy laws require a company to provide notice to California users of their rights to receive information on to which entities their information was shared for marketing purposes.

If you choose to submit a “Book Demo” form or to otherwise provide Aparagon with your personal information, or if you use the Website, or if you enter into a purchase order or to otherwise subscribe to Aparagon’s services, then your action(s) are hereby deemed acceptance of Aparagon’s practices described in this policy statement.
